This is something that took me FOREVER to figure out. Are you ever sitting around and feel the need to snack but can’t decide if you’re actually hungry or just want to eat because you’re bored?
Ask yourself these things:
1. Have I eaten enough protein? Protein keeps you feeling full!
2. Did I eat a variety of micronutrients? Sometimes lacking in fruits and veggies causes us to crave other things
3. Will something ‘healthy’ satisfy my craving? For example, if you’re craving chips or chocolate, ask yourself if eating carrots would satisfy your need to snack. If the answer is no, you’re probably bored. If the answer is yes, you’re probably hungry !
4. Last, ask yourself ‘if I was working right now would I still feel this hungry’ and if the answer is no, again, you’re probably bored.
